espadrij x BRIGHT Art Edition
»On the occasion of the BRIGHT’S 10th anniversary the label [ESPADRIJ] presents in collaboration with 10 artists the charity project „[espadrij] x BRIGHT Art Edition“. The „[espadrij] x BRIGHT Art Edition“ will be presented the first time and exclusively during BRIGHT tradeshow on January 16th and 17th 2010 in Frankfurt/Germany. The shoes are perceived as unique collectors items & are for sale during the two days of BRIGHT. The whole project is non-commercial. All receipts will be donated to the benefit of the Romania Charity Project „Art at Bright“ that supports social institutions & kids in Romania.
Each of the ten artists from the field of urban & streetart and contemporary art have invidually & exclusively designed one pair of [ESPADRIJ] shoes. The colors of the shoes reflect the ci-colors of the last 10 issues of BRIGHT tradeshow. The participating artists, that transformed the light canvas shoe into a piece of art are 44FLAVOURS, JIM AVIGNON, DUST, LOMP, OLIVER MAGIC RÄKE, MEXER, MYMO AKA MYMONSTERS, Schlachtwerk, SELLOUT-INDUSTRIESTM, THE ZONDERS and STEFAN GOLZ (Wemoto). Berlin duo 44FLAVOURS for example “just” put two pieces of linoleum under the soles of the shoes – and used them like that as printing plate for an exclusive additional print series in an edition of 10. Besides the „[espadrij] x BRIGHT Art Edition“ there will also be a limited t-shirt edition which was designed by SELLOUT-INDUSTRIESTM. The shirt will be available against a donation by choice, all money will also be given to the BRIGHT Romania project. The pieces will be showcased exclusively on-site on the exhibition area at first floor during BRIGHT & can be purchased along the lines of „first comes – first serves“.
